Ferrari always gets all the hate... Until it doesn't

Hate First. Arrive Later.

I genuinely think Ferrari should make that their official tagline.

No, seriously. What more does Ferrari have to do before we stop judging its halo cars on launch day?

Think about it. The Enzo was criticized for its styling. LaFerrari for its name and hybrid powertrain. The F80 for its V6, its styling and even its exhaust note. Go back even further and you'll find similar conversations around the F50, the F40 and even the 288 GTO.

Different generation. Different complaints. Same pattern.

Then something curious happens. A few years pass, the noise dies down, and people start seeing the cars for what they are rather than what they expected them to be.

The criticism slowly turns into appreciation, then admiration, and eventually, they become icons.

It has happened ever so often that I am beginning to wonder if Ferrari simply expects it now. You know what I mean? Like almost as if Maranello unveils a new halo car knowing the first chapter will be outrage... and history will write the rest.

Maybe that is the privilege of building six generations of simply jaw dropping automotive icons.

You almost never HAVE TO win launch day. You just WILL win history.
